I wrote this song around 2000 when I was back living with my folks in the Aberdeenshire countryside after finishing at university. It was tough breaking away from my life and people in the city...and of course there was a bit of heartbreak! I guess the song sprang from me coming to terms with that change. The melody is very much inspired by the simplicity and feel for the ancient folk songs from that area that I was just starting to discover.
