about

This has become a favourite in our live set. I/we wrote it very much with our favourite pub session at Uisge Beatha in mind and with Scotland's first year of Homecoming (2009) coming up (there is already another one now!). At the time I was a bit obsessed with emigrant ships through research I was doing in my museum work. The Broomielaw is really close to where I live, and is where hundreds of people in the 19th and 20th centuries would have said goodbye as they boarded ship, and headed off to new lives overseas.
